RCI Sustainability Group Assists Fong An Logistics Center (Wei-Shan Building) in Achieving UL Verified Healthy Building Tier 2 Certification

RCI Sustainability Group successfully assisted the Fong An Logistics Center (Wei-Shan Building) in obtaining the UL Solutions “Verified Healthy Building Tier 2” certification (Verify ID: V652221), with certification validity from February 3, 2026 to February 2, 2027. The certification recognizes the building’s outstanding performance in indoor environmental quality (IEQ), healthy building management, and sustainable operations.

In this project, RCI Sustainability Group provided comprehensive healthy building and sustainability consulting services, supporting the client through certification strategy planning, implementation of healthy building standards, documentation management, and on-site verification coordination. Through close collaboration and technical support, the project successfully completed UL Solutions’ rigorous review and on-site assessment process to achieve the Tier 2 certification level.

Located in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, the Fong An Logistics Center (Wei-Shan Building) is a 10-story mixed-use logistics and office complex with a total floor area of approximately 195,000 square feet. The project was designed with a strong focus on low-carbon operations, energy efficiency, and high-performance building management, while integrating healthy and sustainable building strategies throughout the development.

To support sustainable mobility, the building includes bicycle parking facilities, shower rooms, and dedicated parking spaces for low-emission and electric vehicles, encouraging low-carbon commuting practices. Water conservation measures include high-efficiency water-saving fixtures, native landscaping, and a rainwater harvesting system to significantly reduce potable water consumption.

The project also incorporated circular economy principles during construction, achieving more than 75% construction waste recycling and material repurposing through collaboration with nonprofit organizations, helping minimize environmental impact throughout the building lifecycle.

For energy performance optimization, the building utilizes high-efficiency HVAC systems, on-site solar power integrated with energy storage systems, and a centralized 24-hour Building Management System (BMS) for intelligent monitoring and long-term operational efficiency.

The UL Solutions “Verified Healthy Building Tier 2” certification evaluates indoor air quality, water quality, and overall indoor environmental management practices. Assessment criteria are aligned with internationally recognized standards established by organizations including the EPA, WHO, NIOSH, and ASHRAE. The certification process includes documentation review, on-site inspections, and performance testing to ensure the building maintains a healthy, safe, and continuously improving indoor environment.
