Kuang Tien General Hospital – Xiangshang Branch has achieved Silver certification under the Taiwan Green Building Label, showcasing a new standard in sustainable healthcare architecture.
As the green building consultant, RCI partnered with long-time collaborator TR&D Architects to support the project from planning through construction, bringing to life a smart, healthy, and low-carbon medical environment.
Key Green Building Highlights
Over 100 trees planted, creating a multi-layered landscape with ecological and therapeutic value.
Full LED lighting system with anti-glare design for energy savings and visual comfort.
Exposed piping layout to enhance future maintenance, upgrades, and reduce carbon emissions.
Eco-certified materials, including 96% green-rated ceiling finishes, Low-E insulating glass, and water-saving fixtures.

RCI’s Involvement
As the sustainability consultant for this project, RCI worked closely with TR&D Architects throughout the process—from planning and design, to construction advisory and material evaluation. Together, we ensured that the hospital not only met the rigorous requirements of the EEWH Silver Standard, but also achieved a resilient and healing environment for patients and staff.
A Milestone in ESG Healthcare Development
The success of Guangtian Xiangshang Hospital sets a new benchmark for sustainable hospital design in Taiwan. It reflects a strong commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) values by reducing long-term operational costs, improving indoor environmental quality, and building a foundation for future green infrastructure in healthcare.
